Ok so I have been posting on many forums and trying to get answers as the manual is not so hot for the Voodoo Products or the G-Force for a noob like me.

My goal is simply this. Use my ENGL with the GCX and GC Pro to control the 4 channels and add FX from the G-force and make my own presets etc. I was using the Diezel VH4S but it has 1 return and 2 sends so I think that screws everything up.

So I switched to using my ENGL SE. Now I got it set and told GC pro that a G-Force is present. (It asked me yes or no).

So now, I am controlling channels 1,2,3,4 with the bottom 4 buttons. I have the wires from the G-Force and GCX into the FX return like the diagram shows me and the FX parallel loops set to on, on each channel to access the G-Force coming into the ENGL

I can see now that the 1-8 buttons on the top now look like the go light up when you want an effect there, but I am not getting an effects. Just channel switching at the bottom 4 buttons, but like I said the other buttons 1-8 will light up and stay on when I press them or off when I press again, as if I was turning on effects, but I am not getting any effects. Even when I try to just press chorus on the front of the G-Force, it won't light up Chorus on the G-Force. I am following the Diagrams properly. I wonder what I am doing wrong. I have a feeling it is in the I/o set up

Any ideas guys? I maybe running it the wrong way by telling the GC pro YES to the G-force when setting up the initial midi set up under "special"

Can some one step by step post the wire hook ups and also the I/O set up I need to program in the G-Force to get this baby up and running?   Thanks so much for your help!

Hmmm. I don't run mine like that so I don't think I can help much, maybe if I was sitting in front of everything. Call up Voodoo tomorrow if you don't figure it out. The are SUPER cool and will walk you through it, they did me anyhow when I had some questions/problems/confusion. mmmmm, very helpful they are. ;)

Do you have cables to the next loop. There is no internal connection of the loops. From the out of loop 1 to in of loop 2. From the guitar out to the input of loop one if you plug in the front of the GCX. .......After rereading your post this may not help at all ?.

yeah I think with the holiday over voodooo will be open today. I called yesterday but they where closed.

Thanks guys

LOL Ok you may think I am crazy but it is easier for me to show you my issue than just explain it as it may not make since, so if anyone can see what is going on and how I can get the FX INTO my audio connections I would greatly appreciate it. I have it set so far that the GC Pro is controlling the amp channels and the presets on the G-Force but no FX, hence why I need the hook up correct. I tried some of the examples you will see in the vid.

Thanks guys so much!

Just a few queastions. Have you gotten theGCX to switch your amps channels ? And does the GCX switch patches on your g-force? If so then the only thing left to do is to hook up teh g-force to the amps loop. I would take a cable to the right i/p of the g-force and take that to the Engls loop send and then take the right o/p of the g-force and send that to the Engls loops return. Im not sure if the Engls has a loop on or off feature but if it does,You need to make sure that the loop is on.

Yes the GCX switches the amp channels and also the G Force presets? The ENGL has an FX loop on off in the front so I have it set to "on" on all channels 1-4.

I plugged the send return cables in the FX loop and set the FX mix 100 wet, all the way up. Now which spots on the back of the G-force do put the send and returns? I tried them all and the GCX loop 1 where the audio is going through and still no luck. It says some where to use the output on the g-force I need a special 1/4 inc cable??? not a standard??

Thanks man

You should be able to just send the G-forces send and return to the amps serial effects send and return. There is no need to use the GCX's loops unless you wanted to get into some different routing.
I would use the right send and right return on the G-force and send that to the serial loop. Should work. The serial loop is the easiest IMHO and will allow you to set the wet/dry in the g-force instead of having to set the w/d on the loop as well as in the unit.

Thanks again man. So when you mean "right" send and "right" return, you mean the right side of the output and the right side of the input? Thanks man, I just ask as the G-force does not have them labeled as send and returns, just inputs and outputs

Just tried both the serial and parallel loops. Nothing..... :aww: :aww:

It maybe has to do with something in the I/O set up menu

Yes that is correct! The right input of the g-force goes to the send of the amp and the right putput of the g-force goes to the return. You should hear some effects otherwise it the g-force is in bypass mode or something eles is up. At this point the GCX is only used to switch the effects and it should not affect teh unti as far as the o/p being on or off.
