Just hooked up the G with the 4 cable method into the serial loop and I'm getting a hiss. Can any one tell me what I might have done wrong? Or if you have pics of how you have yours hooked up that would be great! Thanks in advance!

Use the attached guide. I cabled mine with an Ebtech. Stage snake is bundled and I still get some noise. In the studio I have used the Monster shielded cables and still needed the Ebtech.

I have Lairds book and I went through it again and reset all the levels, the hiss is now gone but on the high gain channels I've a loud buzz. Ground loops? Ebtech the best thing for this? Thanks.

Got it, thanks Big Dog. Any body else with advice please feel free!! Thank you!!

Sorry..but with the 4 cable method no way to reduce at zero noise (hiss/hum) problems..a little noise will always be present.
The same with fractal axe-fx.

Just got my LE G-sys and I'm getting some hiss too, the amp is an engl SE.

Has anyone tried a ISP decimator for this?

I could live with a little noise but I'm getting a very loud buzz. I've set all my levels correct. I have the Ebtech HE2 comming Monday to see what that does.

Engl heads se/invader/powerball have an internal noise gate....IMHO not very good.
An amps that needs an internal noise gate plus G-system makes a noisy spot.
I think you can solve using both se and G-system noisegate..se noisegate starts only on hi gain channels and you can setup
g-system noisegate for every preset...of course two gates will colour your tone and kill dynamic.

I set everything where Lairds book said to set it. I also just ordered a ISP Pro Rack G.

This set up is becoming the biggest pain in the ass! I cant get rid of the hiss with the G-System hooked up!!

try getting in touch w/ Andy Wood. I know he runs this rig & knows quite a bit about it for being a redneck! ;) and he has always been super helpful.

I'll try that, I hate to bug him as I know how busy he is.
