Have a chance to pick up a cab with the reissue 65’s.
Would they be awesome with Jose, 2203 and a IIC+??

I wonder if yours were the 444 cone Bass versions...they seem darker than the others I've owned. But, not that dark when pushed...maybe yours were worn out? There's a dog in every speaker group I'll bet...I didn’t like them. Too muffled and dark sounding for my taste, even when loud. At the time I had them, I was mostly playing my iic+ and Cameron Jose modded Marshall SLP. They came stock in my Kerry Wright 412 cab. Literally almost anything else I tried in that cab since then sounded way better to me and really woke the cab up vs those stock 65’s
They were the heritage reisssues. Played them plenty loud. One thing about that particular cab too is that it’s much more transparent than my other cabs in hearing the speakers voicing. When I swapped them out it sounded like a completely different cab as it always does with swaps in that one. Back then though I didn’t yet test speakers in isolation to really hone in on their voicing like I would nowI wonder if yours were the 444 cone Bass versions...they seem darker than the others I've owned. When I run my 72 with my 65 cab and 72 Pulsonic cab the 65s are just as bright, if not brighter.
So how do they change when you give them some volume? They need a lot of volume to sound good...
I prefer brighter and more in your face speakers...
That’s how I remember the reissues 65’s I had being. I haven’t tried vintage versions thoughI hate them. Muffled, congested, and honky. I recently sold off a pair of reissues and have a quad of 1777 Rolas sitting in boxes.
Which is your fav?I love both of these cabs with the Larry Dino…Different tones but each is magic.
Even together they are great!
But, after experimenting with two cabs at 8 ohms, (which is an insane, huge wall of sound), I think I still slightly prefer the ‘one’ 4x12 tone.
…but that changes like the weather
The ‘65’s are 1980’s and the Blackbacks are 1976’s, both are 16ohm cabs.

Which is your fav?
Makes way too much sense.Tough question.
Depends on what music I’m playing and what tone I’m after.
