Hi everyone,
I'm no expert so I'm asking here:
I got across these RST tubes and the seller says they're nos RFT...if so, what's their right price/value?
also another seller has the Philips miniwatt...how good are they?
I'm interested in dark gainy tubes for my weak & bright Jcm800 2203.

I'm also posting two links for the sound I'm aiming for (I know speakers are far more important, but still...):

The tubes look like RFT and philips, but the pictures suck.... we need multiple clear pictures of each tube. Also, just because we see a picture, doesn't mean the tubes test good. RFT tubes can sound a little dark, but I'm not sure I would call them a dark tube. Prices are all over the place.... maybe someone else can comment on that.

Plenty out there labeled RFT, I wouldnt buy it unless dirt cheap

these two RFT are 40 euros both...seller said he bought them from a music-shop in Turin (Italy) and thinks they're new; sounds strange.
Philips instead are said to be tested by a tech... 25 each.

Whether real or not, I think there´s a significant risk they won´t do what you expect from them. I´m not saying tubes don´t matter, but it´s more on the subtle side of things and won´t transform an amp, if the tubes in there are working properly now.

Agree, infact I did something much more effective by changing speakers in favor of Celestion g12-65 (1981). Fizz is almost all gone...tubes now are just for fun and finish some details.

With a JCM800 you should be able to get that Trouble tone, which rules by the way, with some creative EQ’ing.
right, the equalization is very unique...I've been obsessed with this kind of tone since I was 13 when heard Piece of Mind for the first time...I actually bought all my gear in the attempt to get a similar tone...then I discovered Trouble, who had this sound consistently, for at least their first 3 albums.
