Getting my new M4 by next week. Like a bit of FB

Hey guys, I just sold a bunch of gear on Ebay,including my IE-4. And I just ordered my new M4 load with the following modules.
T/D- GnR- MHG- E5. I thought after most of what I read here that would be a good choice to start for me
I would be very interested in any and all thoughts you guys may have. I'll lay out the rest of my rig for you.

Mesa 20/20 - 2- 2X12 cabinets loaded with Eminence Wizards
TC G-Force for effects
GCX switcher for some pedal effects, phase 90, Memory man deluxe.
Ground Control Pro - Ernie ball volume
 
What are you playing stylistically as well as guitars/pups?
 
I play eighties type rock. a little classic rock too. Using a custom Warmoth/strat with S/S/H EMGs- Les Paul,stock Alnico pups- Brian Moore MC/1- EMGs again- Robin with Rio grand Pups.

Those module choices should do it. The only ? for me is the MHG. I think you may have a bit of tonal overlap with that module and EG5. You may want to consider something that is voiced a little differently like the ERECT or EG3/4. The VX is a great all in one module and one of my personal favorites. :yes:

My thoughts exactly,the VX is just great !!
 
Agree with the guys......kind of overlap with the MHG/EG5 and the SL2X to some extent. I'd say go VX or maybe the Bassman in lieu of the MHG. But no matter the fact, if you find that, you can always move them on the used market pretty well.
 
On a side note,the COD is a pretty bitchin mod too,some really great inspiration there!

Nah, I have the MHG and EG5 as well as the EG3/4. They're all different. The MHG is darker than the EG5. Maybe even more saturated.

I agree with this too. I'd go w/ the following:

Twin, VX, SLX2, EG5

That'll cover TONS of ground. It's nearly what I use.
 
Ya when I got the order I was a bit concerned with the selection. A better showing of the versatility of the M4 is the post above. Again we give you up to 3 weeks to bond with your new purchase of modules.

First question, is an SLX2 the GnR? . Kind of new to this forum and I keep seeing different three letter codes popping up.

Second question for Jeff, can I have Eddie from Indoor Storm call you to make the changes?
And in you opinion as well you would recommend the following?

Twin, VX, SLX2, EG5

yes the SL2X is the GnR. Yes you can call eddie. Yes the above selection would be what I would sell you.
 
Ok, guys, thanks for all the great feedback! And thank you too Jeff.

I just called Eddie at Indoor Storm and made the changes as per your suggestions.

Twin, VX, SLX2, EG5

And as a side note, Eddie is a really great guy to deal with at Indoor Storm I highly recommend him.

I will stalk the UPS/Fed guy till it arrives.
