So my 2005 needs a Tube change in the Power and Pre section.
I have done some research and found that a lot of people have fizz problems with the Herbert.
I have the same issue with mine, VH4 doesn't have this problem so I would like to make the Herbert the same.

Anyway I have found this setup in my search:
Diezel Stock Tubes:
V1: Ruby Tubes 12AX7AC5 HG+ 678 Diezel selection
V2: Ruby Tubes 12AX7AC5 HG+
V3, V4, V5, V6, (V7, V8, V9): Ruby Tubes 12AX7AC5 HG
Power tubes: KT77-JJ

This confuses me,
What is V1, V2, V3, 4,5,6,7,8,9? Are these the different slots for preamp tubes?
So this means V1 needs (1) 12AX7AC5 HG 678 Diezel selection mean? What does 678 Diezel Selection mean?
Then V2 doesn't have 678 Diezel selection?
The rest are Ruby Tubes 12AX7AC5 HG none +?

HELP ME!

The Diezel Selection tube is a tube that Peter himself tests and picks out. Thats the most important one in the preamp section. V2 should be the ac5 + and the rest can be the 12ax75ac5 or the ac7 and the can be + or not. The "V" is the tube slot. V1 is the pre-amp tube closest to the guitar input on the amp. v2 is the one to the right v3 to the right of that ect... Hope that helps buddy!

Thanks for the help!

those are the tubes i put in mine when i retubed it last month...well except i put a sovtek lps in the pi spot mines a mk1 herbert as well, I liked the el34's that were in there better then the kt77's..it had more growl...seemed alot more pissed off with the el34's

I liked el34s and kt77s as well. Since there are 6 preamp tubes I wonder what v7, v8 and v9 are?

The VH4 goes to V7....
The pre 98 or 99 VH4 goes to V8....
The VH4S goes to V9....
