Getting this tone?

Sounds great. I know that if you really like that amp then no matter what anyone on here says about Mod50 will change that. I feel the Mod50 with SL T/T sl2 and eg5 is close. To me the laundry amp is a little to much on the treble side but thats me. Could also be the mic/guitar and how his settings are. Tone is different to everyone with the exception of a few guitarist that "most" can agree on. Example,Some people luv Randy Rhoads tone and others think it is one of the worst marshall tone recorded.

Overall I think the amp sounds great but not for me. I like Bogner Ecstasy, Hiwatt, PT100, Marshall Jubi/800 and a few Fenders. I am saving for the Ecstasy (have to have that tone) right now then the Hiwatt but wont get rid of my Eggies. The Ecstasy has everything Im looking for and the Hiwatt is my Gilmour tone chasing.

If you think you need that amp then go for it, it might just be the one amp for you. Tone is something someone else has and we always chase trying to find.

Great sounding amp. Dave Freidman's Brown Eye/Hairy Brown Eye modded module might get you in the ballpark.

To me the ultimate amp is the Marshall PLexi.....I am always chasing that. My VHT ST is the closest!

Build a Plexi. It's not that hard.

They don't hold value. I am starting to think my VHT ST is a better Plexi.

I tried the Randall PLexi modded by JadedFaith. Sounds huge.....bigger than ANY module I own.

I had a VHT ST with EL84s

It had to go pretty soon though, didn't dig it at all. Yo got EL34s or EL84s?

That never kept me from getting what sounded the best. You could tweak it to your taste.

I did NOT like the EL84 model at all.

I have the EL34 model and LOVE it. It is becoming my favorite amp. UNreal build and design. Cuts through like no other amp. Seriously like a better Marshall. Better low end, more growl.

i think the landry might be a little too bright for you.

if you like your vht, then you should just use the vht.

i will admit that landry is a pretty good player and can probably squeeze the best tone out of that head.

after all, he designed and built it.!
