Anyone ever played one of these? I see they were made in 1981. I have never seen one in the wild. Just looking for any opinions or info.

I've owned one of the old 335S pros (deluxe). Had Dirty Fingers and brass nut, iirc.
I still have a reissue.
A bit modded though.
Heavy.
This isn't a lightweight DC it's a solid piece of maple the size of a 339.

Is it really bright sounding? It's at an auction next week, I am gonna check it out. Also this.

Not particularly bright, but I have PhatCats in it now, so not real helpful comparison.
I actually think the old 335s might have been mahogany though.

If you're trying to flip one of those, the 335s will probably take forever to sell. The BFG will sell in hours probably if under market.
I would be looking to get into either for <$800 if looking for profit. $1100 if wanting an okay deal on a guitar to keep.
The BFG is awesome. One of the coolest LPs ever.
Don't pay attention to prices on Reverb for that 335S, imo. You're setting yourself up for failure on a flip if that's you intention.

I dont want to flip it, I want it. But I will have time to check it out. $800 is a good call because that was my thought
If you can get it for that than the worst case if you don't like the pickups I would imagine half that investment or possibly more could be made back in letting go of the dirty fingers.

I will research further, this is a very country area so I cant imagine anyone is trying to be too slick.
I wasn't trying to imply or accuse anyone of anything, they could have been swapped.
They should have double row of screws, too. Appears they do, so could just be optical from the photo.

It’s a shame a few interesting guitars from that era always tend to be boat anchors. I always liked the P-90, LP pro’s but I never picked one up that didn’t make you feel shoulder surgery wasn’t in your future.
