Tell him to put an efx loop in the Brixton!!!

Audio ,
Just buy the GF when it is out in April it is 6v6 very similar to Brixton in hi gain mode .plus with Clean channel ,Loop ,Verb and adjustable boost. I think they mentioned the modes on channel 2 were footswitchable the &70s (crunch)and the 80(higain)..

I had asked if there was going to be a higher wattage Brixton and that was the answer Goldfinger hi gain is very similar ..that was last month .unless he has changed it .which well could easily have happened by now..lol

James,

Was that the 6V6 in the video or the EL34? Have you played both & which do you prefer??

James .How does the GF compare to the 20th Anni Shiva ..??

I don't know, I didn't ask. If you call Bogner ask which version was at the LA Amp show, there was only one there.

It sounded like a simpler circuit to me. Like the XTC sounds like a lot is going on, the Goldfinger sounded more direct which for me I liked. Kind of like an old Marshall, a couple of knobs and pow! They are all great just different.

The 20th Shiva is much tighter and more hard rock sounding. The Goldfinger is based around a totally different feel. It gets pretty heavy if you set it that way, but it's much more loose and fuzzier when pushed. It's a very vintage feeling amp that reacts more like an old school Class A amp, even though it's class A/B. Completely different vibe, very spongy.

Dead-on description Jerry.

I hate to use the description "Orange-y", but I feel like the Goldfinger is like Bogner's interpretation of an Orange. Thick, but fuzzy gain. Very vintage sounding, but can get heavy.

It seems to me that Reinhold, as of late, is really focusing on some vintagey tones.

No suprise. Between the XTC and the Ubie, I mean really, what else is there to invent?  He's got those tones DOWN.
