Considering a Goldfinger and leaning towards the 90. Has anyone played both? Like to hear which you guys would choose? Thanks!

Only played the 45. The 6v6's sound stellar in it. It can do a lot of things very well.

I played both, and i prefer the 90watt / EL34 version! The 45Watt / 6V6 is a genius piece aswell, georgeous clean sounds and kinda thick and liquid lead sounds. Round, warm and fat!
But I personally prefer the 90/EL34! Does sound a lot more focused, more attack and punch...
just like older Marshall. Love the Clean Channel when it breaks up.

How does it compare to the 20th X? How much overlap between the two?

the 80's mode overlabs pretty much with the xtc's blue channel, but the xtc sound much more open and expanded. the 69 mode is just killer and together with the gain eq and clean channel its just a killer amp overall... which causes that shiver i always got as a first sign of a newly bout of gas! damn!
