Lemme know what you know. Heritage Softail's put a bug in my ear and now I'm nuts. I'm losing my shit. Says I should look at the Goldfinger. I'm already on board with the Sheevs and own a 20thX.

Stop the madness.

Put me out of my misery would ya?

Any 411 - greatly appreciated...

Thanks,
Mo

Great amp but not enough punch and volume in this amp...
The XTC 20th is a lot more addictive I think!
I sold mine really quickly...

Just go play 'em! It isn't the high gain that sells the Goldie.

Hard to go wrong. I'm anxious to see what you decide if you get a good day to kick the tires of each one in the same room. I think living 15 miles away from a Guitar Center booteek gear store is a blessing and a curse.

I am still torn....

And then you started stirring the high gain pot with the D Mon..... Oh you evil man... So now the Diezel conundrum is three amps instead of two..

Like many things in life we like to play with and have fun with, 3 is usually always better than 2... :D

Why not try a Marshall YJM if you want a Plexi kind of tone go for the real thing.

Killer amp. I currently have a Rev.2 Uberschall and have owned lots of Shiva's, Ecstacy's and a Duende. The Goldfinger is my favorite Bogner. Had mine for two years.

Has someone compared Goldfinger 45 vs 90??
I will sell my XTC 20th EL34 and I'm looking for a smaller amp like the Shiva 20th or Goldfinger but the 45 watts was not enough powerful and big sounding for my needs...
It's impossible for me to try it before buying so the Shiva 20th is maybe more interesting but I still have the Twin Jet and the XTC 20th 6l6 so maybe the Goldfinger 90 will be more interesting for me ...
Thanks ;)

I have played both the 45 and 90. Bought the 90. The 45 has a brighter high end.

I also own an XTC 20th EL34, I find the Omega channel of the GF90 to be somewhat similar to the XTC blue channel. Not exactly the same, but not too far off from it. The XTC blue is a little tighter sounding.

Believe it or not, I've just never had a lot of luck with actual Marshalls... Maybe I'm weird.

I will never sell my 20thA-XTC... Not a chance. Just sayin', that puppy stays

So, to clarify, I'm not really horn-doggin' for the GF, in fact, I just don't know much about it. I know where the Sheevs sits in my priority list, it's on. B-Rad got a hold of me, told me I can get a GF in no time flat for his remarkable pricing, but I'm still sitting here going "wtf is this thing?" and have tirelessly searched for clips and YT vids and the like, but none of those truly give what this amp can do.

As for just "trying" an amp - can't do. My location doesn't allow it, and my time most definitely doesn't allow it. It's easier for me just to buy and try and if it's a win, good. If not, pawn it.

Just sayin'.

I am one of the lone decent-ers in the Goldfingers tone. Its way more vintage and not enough girth for my liking. The 20th Sheeves can get waaaay more aggressive yet still has that glassy cleans. People say the GF cleans are much better then the Shiva. I fart on those people. I'd take an original shiva over the GF 90 on both channels. Add the 20th Shiva to the mix....no brainer.

you cant take a road trip or weekend trip to a shop that carries Bogners? demo;ing all 3 at once would answer all your questions.

Good luck!

Played the 45 and 90 (owned a 90 for a while but needed more gain so bought Friedman) but the 90 is a great amp. The clean channel was by far the best I'd ever heard on any Bogner. Reverb was also very sweet. I preferred to run the dirty channel on the 80's mode for more grit. To my ears it's a very Plexi sounding amp but without being too Marshally sounding - still sounded like a Bogner. If you're a Plexi guy you'd love the GF90.
