Golub Aldrich Lead Mod Clip

Here's a quickie of the Aldrich Lead mod from Martin Golub at LASD. It doesn't have all the EQ control of the Cameron, put when you get the master dialed up high enough, all the good stuff comes out. This one probably retains more of the Marshall tone than some of the others I have.....plus, you can still have this mod done. Playing again with an Anderson Drop Top Pro AM in E, straight in, no FX thru a Bogner with V30/T75's. Recorded with a Zoom Q3HD.

You know John, I haven't played it in a couple of months. When I was setting it up, I thought the same thing to myself. When you are playing it at a lower volume, it is a little thin because it doesn't have the EQ control of some of the others. But, there's a level in it that once you cross, the fucker explodes (in a good way) with lots of retained Marshall tone with better harmonics, and a little richer than stock. The bottom end also blossoms in it. So, yeah - I agree with you, its at least as good, if not better - but different.

I thought the same thing. I mean, every clip sounded great (Loved the Suhr one) but this one is like a mean and pissed off Marshall. Anyway great stuff

Steve are you running the chinese pre in v-1 ?
In my Golub, the amp sounds too buzzy. The best pre in my Golub for v-1 was the tung -sol, or the sovtek lps, then all chinese premium selects 9th gen. in the rest of the spots.

Sovtek LPS. Rarely do I run a C9 in V1 of a Marshall.

Cool. Yeah, I find the chinese in the 1st spot/V-1, Sucks to my ears in the marshall. Sometimes I run the EH pre tubes in the v-1...
