Hi,

can you give me eq examples of your Einstein to get a good clean sound out of Einstein together
with an EMG81.
Unfortunately my guitar has got only one pickup and one volume knob at the moment.
(Body and neck of my guitar are both mahagony)

If you have the neck PU you should get a good tone, it's not going to sound like passive good, but it will sound like EMG good. Generally talking you are going to need less top end. If bridge PU is what you have I highly doubt that you can get a really good tone out of it.

Have the same thing with my BKP Miracle Man (17.5k output, ceramic magnet)... which is why I have to use the neck p/up if I want anything like a nice clean tone. The bridge output is too harsh, and I think that you'll have the same problem with the 81. You can try cutting the top end & presence but I'm not sure if any of that will help...

Thank you for your replies.

I think I must now plan to put in a toggle switch and a EMG SA pickup in neck position (yes the EMG81 is at bridge position)
and toggle between the two pickups when playing clean or distorted sounds.
