Got it delivered from a trucking co.? I'm digging the flexibility, got a good chewey clean tone on channel 1, and channel 2 I dialed in for some Marshally type grind with brit mode/vintage/midcut off/bright/tight off. When tweaking to modern/midcut on/tight/bright you almost get a modern/recto type tone. Sounds really good with some tube distortion in the right amount.
I'm digging it for my family room amp.

I agree, this is a great amp, I got the head for portability, as I already have a great combo in the HRDlx (heavy though). The tone controls, switches and knobs on the 40, give such a wide variety of tones, and beautiful tones at that. When I bought it, I thought that I might switch to 6V6 output tubes, which is what I really wanted, but after playing for a while, I realized that the 40 does a very good 6V6 sound, smooth and creamy distortion, as well as a great 6L6 clean. I am very happy with it, I even like the stock tubes. Ruby 6L6GCM-STR output, and Tung Sol preamp/PI.

Any thoughts on bias? I checked mine, and was happy to see that it was higher than the factory recommended 65 mV. It was still a little cool at about 72 mV and I bumped it up to 78 mV, which is right at 50%.
