I cant remember for the life of me what it is, but there is another video on the tube of the MG with great tone. It might be a marshall demo. It was sickening.

Ill take a look for it...

The title to this thread is an oxymoron.

Did you watch the video? His tone is good!

I would say his playing is far, FAR, F A R better than his tone and that's not a knock against the tone, but the playing is very cool. The tone, well, it's not really catching my ear, then again it's a youtube video.

It's not the best tone ever, but I was shocked he made an MG sound that good.

I would surmise that he could also make a POD 1.1 sound that good. His playing "feels" good so no matter what he plays through it's likely to sound impressive.

Nothing to be embarassed about, if that is what you got then hey it is better than nothing.

Yeah I suppose an amp is an amp.

On the same token, the MG barely qualifies as an amp.

I used to have one and my Valvetronix slayed it. Literally. It sat in the corner collecting dust. The MG cab wasn't half bad though.

Wow, I must have missed a router somewhere, because even though my browser says "Rig-Talk" - I think I'm on "The Gear Page"...

I got a killer modern metal tone from a 80 watt 1x12 MG. I set the gain to half and boosted it with a Boss OD-3 and also ran a Boss NS-2. Contour at 2 o' clock with an EMG loaded axe. Sounded really good, everyone was surprised especially my buddy who owned the amp. "That amp has never sounded that good." He said.
