Bought a one year old RT2/50 from a rig-talker. It had EL34 and 6L6 tubes in it, both JJs. I pulled them and put in a quad of SED Winged-C EL34s in there. The previous owner had the 6l6 side biased very cold, around 11mV. I've got both sides at just under 33mV now.

I know I've heard others say VHT amps are tight but can be sterile, now I know why. I think VHT amps are great but this Randall is definitely more organic and has more sag. I only played it for a few minutes but it does sound very nice. I'll have to spend alot more time with it though. I'm going to try my SED Winged-C 6L6s next. I've got 3 JJ ECC83S tubes in the pre as well.

You are gonna love it! I a/b'd the RT250 to a VHT 2/90/2 and went with the Randall. Not only does it sound good, but it has a nice feel to it too. I really like switching between the different tubes for different modules. It just adds that extra something to the tones.
