I think we all know that, at the end of the day, it's the sound that matters, but I've really been appreciating just how aesthetic some of the recent amps I've picked up are. These are nice looking amps! Really dig the look of the Prometheus, Hybrid 100, and Granophyre, especially, but they are all cool.

Pretty amazing collection.

In all fairness, price aside....that el34 iconic hangs with the best of them?

That's the regular EL34 EVH 5150 III, but I do have the Iconic too. I love 5150s. All of them, from the original block letter to the OG 5150 III, 50 and 100 Stealth, the Iconics, etc.... all of them. :)

IMO, 5150s just provide a great balance of tightness, bass response, saturation, and aggression that is hard to beat for all forms of modern metal, and they are great for both leads and rhythms. It's the classic 5150 + Mesa V30 sound coming from guys like Andy Sneap and Colin Richardson in the early 2000s that got me really into amps and guitar tone. So, 5150s will always hold a special place in my heart. haha.

So, yes, I do think they can hang. Everything else is just for variety and to try new things. They might not have the best build quality, especially compared to some of these high end amps, but they sound very good.

I like the variety and l think looks do matter in a sort of inspirational way, I’ve seen enough black boxes with a gold panel lol

100%. I only go for black tolex now if it's the only option and/or if I'm getting a really good deal. If I'm spending money, I want some nice, unique tolex option. haha. I chose the Fender Tweed for the Prometheus, because I thought the color would match the yellow/gold text on the amp and because I didn't have any heads in tweed, and I think it came out pretty awesome looking.

I didn't spec out the looks on that Hybrid 100. That was @Yehuda. haha. but I think it's the very best looking RedSeven amp I've seen to date anywhere. I love the Vox Fawn tolex + flamed green maple wood on the front. Looks so good.

Love the colors! Bet you wouldve done well with my orange hellion haha

I loved my Malibu wagon. I changed the whole powertrain with a 350/TH700R4/3:73 rear and lowered it a little and added some nice ralley wheels. It was a killer daily driver for around $6K. I'd do it again. Mine didn't have the wood paneling though.

Awesome amp collection.

I was just asking about the prometheus! Love their pedals. Curious about amp.

Any other amp you might go on a limb and say it's similar to? Or noticeable differences to other high gain amps?

People gloss over the clean channel. But I keep a fender around because my high gain amps have underwhelming clean channels. Do the inspiration (hiwatt, fender, meatsmoke) hold up? Or keep the fender if I want chime?

Being built with their signature fane speaker in mind. How does it play/interact with other speakers?

Anything else to help out a pleb make a decision without trying the amp?

Yep, those are some sexy bitches! All three of those are on my short list. And tho I've heard good clips of them all, I just don't think I have the heart anymore to spend the bux. I'm keeping my powder dry for a while in case shit goes downhill. But damned if I wouldn't love to have all three of those in my stable. Nice score of some beautiful amps.

what's up with those club secrets? I think they were a collaboration? Looks like something I want and can't have. :p

It was a collaboration between Monomyth and Headfirst amps (Shea and Jason). My understanding is that it is based on early Soldano SLO-like mods done to a Marshall JMP circuit. There are only 6 of these in the world and only 4 in the US, but somebody else is selling one of them on Reverb right now if you want it.

They plan to do a Club Secret limited run of special collab amps each year as far as I know, but they told me this year's won't release until early 2025. As far as I know, it will be somewhat based on a Marshall Jubilee circuit this time.

I love Fender amps for clean tones too. My Milkman and Mesa clean/low gain amps are all Fender-based. I especially love the Fender Princeton (I have the Milkman Creamer, which is based on it.)

I believe the clean channel on the Prometheus is Hiwatt-based.

I don't blame you. The state of the world is pretty intense at the moment.
