Yeah, and kinda a slap back at Friedman from what I heard.. supposedly Dave was ragging him for building clones and Nik was like you are doing the same thing. Up until that point he had never cloned a production amp... the name is kind of a double play.

I don't mind to be honest. People who want a Friedman tend to just buy friedman so I can't see it hurting hos bottom line really. I think ceriatone does some cool plexis and British amps.

I have a Ceriatone 2204 that is preventing me from buying anything else. I know I'll always be coming back to it because it sounds that good and takes pedals extremely well. I'm always amazed at the amount of different tones in it just with how the dials are set and which pedal(s) are in front of it.

I bought it to mod since it is well built and handwired. I thought it would be the perfect starting point to teach myself amp building. But I am so happy with it that I haven't wanted to mod it yet. Fortunately, I have started with building pedals so it is serving it's purpose well for testing them.

I'm just a JCM guy I guess and this is a perfect specimen. But I do want to try a Friedman one of these days. I don't think I'll like it as much but I am hoping I do.
