excellent choice. now....slide your 80 down a bit and your 240 up. a little more 750 and 2200, and a little less 6600....pull your Lead Gain knob out, but keep your Lead Drive knob in. pull your presence knob out and crank it. make sure your Lead voicing is on Harmonic, not Mid Gain. :P

How cool is that? :D

That would be like me getting 5150 advice from Mike Amott. :D

So did you try his suggestions? How did they sound?

I havent yet, waiting for the "ole lady" to get home so i can though.

That is so bad ass dude! I'll have to try those out as well. Can't do much better than that for tonal advice   .

No shit huh? I'm supposed to meet them Aug 3rd at the Lubbock Tex. show....maybe I can get some good clear pics of their rigs. I hope.

kick ass!!!
:worship:

makes me want to ask gary holt his setting on the triple xxx

yea no shit, I wonder if Gary would give 'em to ya......I bet he would, seems like a cool guy. I spoke with him a few times here on the forum.

gary is cool I probably will ask him when he comes to town again

That's cool that he gave some advice. I think that at louder volumes the IV does sound great with the presence pulled. At lower volumes i like it pushed. I keep lead drive pulled though and harmonics is usually selected.

That is very very cool - Mark has better tone than Willy for me. It always seems somewhat darker to me, but in pics I've seen he has more of an M EQ shape than a V, so that's probably why.

I pretty much do those things apart from cranking the presence! I tried Willie's settings when I got my IV and they were "somewhat" bright. I tend to always keep lead gain pulled, lead drive pushed and presence pulled, but on just over 2, not 10 :D

I tend to switch between Mid Gain and Harmonics, depending on mood.

By the way, here's the pic of Mark's EQ

I think he was telling you to crank the volume and not the presence.... just my opinion though...

I am pretty sure he meant presence.

Have seen quite a few pics of his rig and the presence is always waaaaay up there.
