I have a partially broken but still functional gotoh floy brdge saddle on my EVH and after not being able to find a suitable replacement, ordered a set of graphtech saddles. I received them today but I'm wondering how much of a difference they will make  I never have had aproblem with sting breakage and if I keep looking I will find an original replacement. Anyone use the graphtechs and if so, is it worth it to swap them out?

Yes!

I've been using GraphTech String Savers on EVERY single LP, Strat, and Tele style guitar that I've owned for the past dozen years or so, including a pair of PRS Custom 24s that I used to own. In fact, string breakage was a problem on those PRS' so they're why I started using GraphTechs. I was gigging a LOT back then and needed the peace of mind. I went from being able to count on a set of strings only lasting one full gig, to 2-3 gigs with the saddles. They really do work and don't affect your tone adversely as far as I can tell. I've actually got sets of them unused in my parts drawer just so I have them for when a new guitar arrives. I've also got one of their Ghost Systems on one of my strats.

ETA: I haven't yet tried their Floyd saddles (didn't even know they had them), but since I recently purchased a Floyd-equipped guitar I'll have to look into them.

Are they the ones that give a little nudge around 2k Hz?

I agree, they really make a difference on vintage style saddle guitars, after a year or so, strat would break strings all the time, after the graph techs, they last too long...

no doubt man - for my guitars with the graphtech saddles the strings stay on way too long - it's not good if you're lazy about changing strings...

The Graphtechs saved my ass. I only use on the high E saddle on a couple strats that have unusually hard tension and now i no longer have to stress about bending wide without breaking strings. as far as tone, dont really see that much a difference, especially when you're playing a loud amplifier.

I had them on a Les Paul about a year, they cause the bridge to have a dull attack, i prefer without.

I had them on my strat years ago, I was breaking strings too often. Started with all 6 then just one, though now the stock ones. They definitely work really well at preventing breakage. I think the change in tone is pretty subtle but it did roll off a little high end sparkle (not necessarily a bad thing) IMO. I was using 11s (and 12s sometimes lol) in std and Eb at the time and that probably contributed to it. Went down to 10-52s and wasn't breaking them as much so the regular saddles are working ok now. Though with the graphtech you could definitely be more confident in big bends on the E string without breaking for sure.

Thanks for all of the input. Sounds like if string breakage isn't a problem it may not be worth it?? In all my years of playing I have broken a string once during a gig so...Probably going to send them back and buy a wah pedal or something

I have them on my MIM strat and one MIA strat. I like them. The MIM strat had vintage saddles and I had issues with breaking strings. Since I switched them out, have not broken a string. It had been years since I broke a string, but I bought back my old Fender MIJ contemporary tele and broke a string the first night back with the guitar. :(

Bought my first Fender guitar (Cyclone) recently. First guitar ever for me with a Fender style bridge. Just broke a string (low e tuned to C 60) for the first time in years. Broke right there at the saddle. I'm going try the string saver saddle pretty soon myself.

I have them on about everything. On every guitar I've owned its always the D string that breaks. Doesnt matter what guitar type, string type or tuning...it always breaks. The SS saddles help but I still break them.

I've not tried the Floyd saddles yet, they should work well though.

i love them. every LP i have has them. i will get them for my 3 floyd guitars and my sg.

but first, im saving for my amp i want!!!!!!!!

I had a cheap tele that pinged on high e. Changed to graphtechs and it was like a different guitar. Very solid item.
