My mod 50 is currently loaded with VX and SL2 modules going into an avatar vintage 2x12 with greenies. I really love the sound, but I want a speaker with a little higher power handling with the same greenback sound.

Right now at practice I run my amp at master almost at 3:00 and modules as high as they go without clippingthe input on my G-major in the loop. Sometimes at gigs the soundguy asks me to turn it down for a lower stage volume when micing my amp. This is fine, but my tone changes a little. It's not necessarily a bad change, but its different at different venues and such. I'm just looking for a little more consistency.

Any suggestions?

BTW the VX module through greenies gets a VERY close tone to an AC30.

For the premium, I'd go with the scumback listed above. If you want to save some cash, you can try an Eminence Private Jack or the GB12. Two pretty darn good speakers.

Yep, the Eminence GB12 was my favorite. I have jumped ship and fell in love with the Weber Silver Bell I got from Eric. I will sell my Emi BG12's to you if you are interested. They are great Green Back style and take 75 watts each. I have two 16ohms.

Alot of top studio guys in Nasville(and Not country) are using the PRivate Jack when they could chose anything. Ive personally heard them play and what a great sound. But, my understanding is that the are more Blue alnico which is the ultimate for the VX module IMO

+1 on the Scumback M75's, the best greenback type speakers I've heard. You can get them in 25, 65 or 100 watts. I have the 65 watters and they sound huge and have never flubbed them out. They handle a lot of low end and stay tight much better than standard greenies, but still sound like a true greenback (actually better than most)! Haven't honestly tried the Private Jacks, but I'm hearing from others that they're pretty nice too.

You can check the thread for the High Gain Amp Shootout, there are a lot of videos and clips of Scumback loaded cabs.

I am currently using an Emi Wizard and a Red Fang in a Randall 212, great tone. Didn't like the Private Jack/Red Fang combo as much. Before that I had a Wizard and a Private Jack in it, which also sounded very good.

Thank you guys for the suggestions. I'm gonna do some more research on the scumbacks and both of the eminence speakers.

I agree the Private Jacks sound great. They sound more like old UK Greenbacks than the Chinese.

I have 2 412s loaded with PJ and Govs in X patterns and I LIKE THEM.

WGS Green Berets?

Dude! Your avatar is the bad guy from "Kindergarten Cop"!!! LOL!!!

On a serious note, how are the Warehouse ET65s? I am looking at this one as well as the PJs and GB12s for my Marshall JVM215c 1x12 combo. I love Greenbacks too, so I'm wanting to stick with that voicing.

(sorry, I'm really NOT trying to highjack this thread!)
