Guitar Center Returns

I've returned 2 amps this year. I'm thinking about picking something up but like having the option to return if needed.

I've probably returned 4 or 5 things this year, but they've either all been due to poor packing causing damage, or issues with the equipment itself.

1 Mesa cab had the v30's replaced with MArshall MG speakers.

1 Peavey VTM had an insanely loud screach upon flipping off standby.

A 2203X started making popping noises through the speakers after switching out of standby (I suspect tubes)

1 Line 6 V30 cab was completely split open due to poor packing

My Bogner Helios eclipse had a broken tube and the transformers are now cocked badly to the side due to poor packing.

They probably lose more money on issues like this than most of us make in a year.

I wonder myself. I return most of what I get.

I really don't trust GC used online. I got fucked twice. If I see a killer deal in the store, I will buy, especially if the dumbasses mislabeled something.

I paid $505.25 for a ESP Eclipse that was mislabeled an LTD EC. I love that guitar. Especially the price.

I'm so bad. Once I returned I think three amps all at once. They didn't bat an eye. In the end, I keep way more than I return, so it should all be good.

Someone that has worked there years told me about 15 times. I have it delivered to the store and try it there before I bring it home. Nearest one is less than two miles.

this happened to me THREE times with guitar center over the last 15 years. 2 times with 1960a cabs (1 had 3 originals and one cheap replacement, and one had all cheap replacements. took them back. Then there was a mesa road king cab that had the stock speakers in the half open part, and then cheap speakers in the sealed part. i didn't bother to open it up until it was too late with that one. idk why...long time ago.

crazy that they wouldn't check the insides of cabs when they take them in!

Nope. No way. I've returned that many EASILY in a year. I've slowed down a lot but up till late last year, I have to have at LEAST 75 or even more since about 2012.
But I've also kept a bunch. Both of my main guitars are Charvel USAs, one is a 2009 for 549 a year ago and recently they had an original 1984 HSS Charvel listed as a model 3. 799. Gotta love GC.
:D

People pulling shit like that all the time. Half the people that work at guitar center have no idea what's going on anyways. I've bought around 10 of the old Peavey butcher cabs from them for $100 or less. Every time I have to ask about the speakers, because none of them ever know that the cabs came with celestions

As far as the Mesa cab, I returned it and ensured they also refunded my shipping charge. Any time there is an issue with the item, I make sure they give me shipping back. I have to mention it, but they never give me balls about it.

It's a no brainer for trying gear. And with reverb and Ebay sticking everyone with there tax shit why bother. I've returned so much to guitar center, as they told me* we have an open door policy on returns. I was concerned they may complain. They dont..I guess if you bought and returned everyday as an attempt to use them for your g.a.s. denial for therapy maybe the red flag rises? Lol
