Guitar speaker recommendation

Hey Guys,
I was hoping I could get some advice on some new speakers for my rig. I have recently come into 2- Custom audio amplifiers 2x12 cabs unloaded. So I would like to get some speakers to install in them. I am running an Egnater M4- ( T/D- SLX2- COD- E5 ) - TC -G-Force - Mesa Boogie 20/20. But could be changed to a VHT 2/90/2. I embarrassed to say I am still using a BBE 462. Any thoughts on this too would be appreciated. I still can't seem to shake that need for that additional bright polish the BBE adds.
I am looking for that 80's rock processed rack sound. Kind of Lukather inspired. Regarding the speakers, I am currently using 2- 2x12 cabs with Eminence Wizard speakers.

Any advise would be appreciated.
 
With the tone you are going for I would load them with at least one set of Celestion 80. The Classic Lead 80 or if you can find some used Egnater Elite 80, those would be good. I had a 20/20 for a long time. The C-80 sounded great with that amp.
 
May I borrow this thread... I currently play with Mod50 with 6550 power tubes, the modules I'm using are EG3/4 and BE/C45. I playing thru a 4x12'' Bogner cab with vintage 30. There are some upper frequencies that i do not particularly like, so I'd like to try something else. Would you suggest CL80s? Any other brand?
 
80's (any of them, WGS BR80, Celesion CL80, Elite 80's, Mesa 90's)

Did you try the WGS Veteran 30? Sounds much better than the Celestion version. I also might have a used Celestion CL80 if anyone is interested.

Agreed, Celestion Golds are awesome speakers but for 80 metal. 80's all the way.
 
Current fav set is WGS Veteran 30/WGS ET-65. The mids or gorgeous with these.

agree.

I can think of at least 5 guitar speakers I like a LOT. Then, factor in the number of combinations you can use, and damn! (edit, there's eight, LOL)

I am running Elite 80's and a G12K100 currently. I just pulled a G12T75 for the K100. I have some WGS 80's and a couple of Emi V12's I still need to try also. That will be tonights task!
