as the fine Diezel amps are from Germany, I wondered if any of you guys that either been there or stay there could tell me where there are great guitar shops in Berlin?

i am heading there for a few days with my wife and want to have a browse of what gear Berlin has! preferably effects that are not common in the UK.

Thanks Peter

Unfortunately Just Guitars had the worst customer service I have ever experienced. For a start they advised me against buying a Hagen! As the Mesa's are much better apparently!! Kinda put me off buying anything in the store, now when your going in there thinking of dropping 5K on anything I wouldn't call it an invite to spend! Everytime I asked for assistance I was met with a grunt and a very busy (talking amongst themselves at the counter)

Not cool.

We oughta send a couple of gentlemen there to "gently remind" these kind folks that it's a privilege and an honour to carry Diezel :gethim:

Just in case you did not know this... there are unfortunately a lot of places in Germany were customer service goes to die a horrible flaming death and some music stores wouldn't know how to make a customer feel honestly welcome if their life depended on it. It ain't pretty but you are definitely going to run into that in these parts unfortunately.
Don't let it dis-hearten you, grab 'em and tell them what you want to try and don't associate the shop or your expectations all too much with the brands they are carrying.

Oh and that makes papa and the good folks at Diezel even more awesome, unique and stellar examples of how it should be done!!

Hey...

Kahawe is totally right! Some Shops seem to love just sitting on their stuff and are busy enough to feel like: I AM A KING BECAUSE I AM A MASTER OF ALL THESE AMPS....and that´s all...like a person who is busy enough looking pretty  the It-"Girls" of music stores...hehehe...

Diezel is a complete opposite! I ask something, I get an answer! Even if it is a weird question with lots of "Voodoo-Content" and superstitious rumours about maybe Tubes and stuff...this helped me a lot to terminate some of this "knowledge" forever!

When I read this about Just Guitars in Berlin, I was very :scared: :aww: ! I have never made any experience with this Shop in Berlin. But I had a lot of very kind contacs to Just Music in Hamburg! I talked a lot to Nils and some other Guys there and the where always very helpful and friendly. When I asked about some new "Equimpent Ideas", I got useful and realistic help! Imagine the same situation as in Berlin would have been totally different in HH!!! They would have been invited to come along and have a coffee and afterwards a testing session, so you could decide by your own ears, if a Diezel or a (FillintheBlank) would have been a better choice for you! (and if you wouldn´t buy anything it would have been ok, too! So it doesn´t depend on the amount you are going to spend!!!)

My personal opinion btw: especially if you are a starter a Diezel may fit, because it´s much easier to dial in a useful sound in a short time compared to some others...

I hope I didn´t make a kot of mistakes in case of if then would and so on :D

Just my 2 cent...

What volkair said^^

Plus I still can't believe they'd plug mesa on you when you went there asking about Diezel... not that there is anything wrong with mesa per se (different strokes..) but if someone is specifically asking about Diezel that should tell me that a) I better whip out the Diezel stuff and b) for the typical folks who like Diezel mesas are quite at the other end of the "want it" spectrum for a lot of reasons of personal preference. Kinda like pushing a Merc on someone asking about BMWs or whatever.

Really, some people... couldn't sell hot buns to the starving. They'd be all like "nah dude, carbs are bad for you, crawl a few more miles for the steak and salad!"

To put things into perspective: there is Just Guitars Berlin and there is Just Music Hamburg. I bought two Diezel Hagen from Just Music Hamburg and couldn't be happier with their customer support. The staff there is very responsive, quick, friendly and honest. They know a lot about guitars and amps and I never had the feeling that they tried to sell me something I don't want.

It's a shame that Just Guitars Berlin ruins the reputation of Just Music in general.

+1!
Just Guitars Hamburg has IME an exceptional service

Maybe there is someone in Berlin who does not know the difference between the needs of the customer and the own personal opinion - a serious mistake for a sales man! But this is not regular for Just Music at all... I entered Just Music (in Hamburg) looking for a new amp - Hagen or a Boogie. Had a very long testing with one the JM-Guys and many amps... and left with a VH4. The best buy I ever made (ok, except my guitar...). I had no amp so far which stayed with me such a long time and it will stay for very much longer... :-)

I'd like to jump in here aswell.

I've been a happy customer of Just Guitars Hamburg for as long as I have been a happy hamburger :)
The guys over there know what they are talking about. True, they do tell you, when they think an amp does not fit your style or needs. But wouldn't your friends?

Regarding Diezel amps in particular I've had rehearsal sessions with Nils who gave me a savvy introduction to the VH4 and Herbert back then. I remember we both agreed on the Diezels sounding absolutely perfect for the kinds of rhythm tones we liked. The folks at Just guitars were all positive about their gear without using any pressure. Exactly what I expect from a good salesman.

Whenever I need a good advice Just Guitars is my first place to go.
