I'm giving the final touches to this song, need to add the bass (my crappy bass is broken....I'm getting a Squier Deluxe next week). The vocal lines are ready, I just need to sing them... (tomorrow)

I'll post the final mix. Still need to hear the thing with vocals and bass to make the final touches (like adding less reverb to the final mix, turning up the Solo a bit, etc etc....but give me more things if you hear them)

please I need your opinion, this is part of a personal project (album-demo coming which I'm recording myself)

If you're interested in knowing the recording equipment I used, let me know.

the lectric guitars are the Diezel Einstein with the John Mayer Strat. The Acoustic is a cheap Greg Bennett.

+1 to a little too much reverb.

I also hear this resonance come through that's probably between 180 - 300hz. Maybe try to do something with the eqs that would be the equivalent of turning the deep control down.

Other than that, nice mix! Can't wait to hear the final outcome....

thanks guy...... yeah I went overboard with the reverb......... I think my ears were kind of tired at the end (5+ hours mixing, with the occassional brake, but still, it's a lot of time) so I kept adding reverb and reverb and reverb hehehe

hey magic8, I cut everything from 50hz down, and took -4db everything from 50hz to 150, but slighty boosted (2dbs) in between 150 - 200 becuase there's no bass in that mix.....and I wanted to listen to it with some body.

Once the bass lines are laid, those freq. will be tamed!

thanks anyways...........anything else? :) I need fresh ears for this man.....so, keep on commenting/suggesting pls. :D

VERRRRRBBBB

ha seriously, use reverb to separate out instruments and sometimes as an effect, to much use of it causes a wash and makes thigns lose thier impact... Verb on some stuff adds some nice sonic space, on everything it can create mud and incoherancy.

I would back off the room as well on teh drums, EZ drummer? back off the room. I would also try to program in some more drum changes. I would like to hear some more variation in the drums basic pattern. Think like a drummer would beyond adding cymbal hits and some fills here and there.

some of the guitars need some compression to help limit their dynamics.

kewl, have fun man!!!!

1. Lower effects a bit

2. You will need more mids when other
instruments chime in.

My two cents ;)

thanks guys...... I'll fix all that today! you're very helpful! :D
