Went down to San Antonio to my new favorite store. Space Tone Music. Owner Jason is a hoot and stocks a nice store full of awesome mix of useful gear, vintage amps & guitars and most of all ... PEDALS!!! I've been going down there every couple of weeks to see what he's got and I bought a Keeley Blues Driver a while back. Went down there with my Rebel 30 because I was looking for a pedal to get those in-between tones. You know, the Rebel 30 has a great clean channel and an awesome gain sound but I need a crunch tone. Kind of like channel B on the SL, B'man or Vox. I bought a V4 Fulltone OCD. PERFECT on the clean channel of the Rebel 30. Sounded friggin great. I bought it and while I'm looking around I spotted a Motion Sound SR - 112. It's a rotating speaker kind of Leslie deal. $300!!! I bought it too and sounds friggin GREAT!! So I'm hanging out and there is this dude there and he notices my Rebel. We talk a while and it turns out he is forum member Riddick (sp?).

Fun day.

OCD V4 is just a ridiculously great pedal for crunch tones, for not a lot of dough...

V3 was cool too, but V4's gain range is much more useable...

Yea I was honestly a little surprised Nick. I had a V1 way back and I liked and everything but. I had a boat load of pedals I put it up against. Now keep in mind I had the specific criteria of crunch RTM tone on clean channel in mind. I put out a Keeley TS808, Durham Sex Drive, Zia & Mucho Boosta, and shit a bunch of booteeky madness. OCD kicked some butt and won my money. Bonus is when I got home and tries it on the Rebel 30 gain channel, it ROCKs there too.

Man I should try the OCD again sometime. I tried V1...and liked it...but didn't love it. The BB Preamp has been that type of pedal for me. So much so...I don't have a sparkle drive on my pedalboard anymore. I still own a SD...but...I find myself using it more w/ my Mod50 blues rig! :)

Yea, you really need to go check a V4 out Eric. I had it right next to my BB tonight and it was kicking it's butt, and I am a major Xotic pedal fan, love the BB Preamp. But damn, seriously ... pedal the OCD V4 is a real winner.

Well I think I'll have to grab one the next time I get a chance! :) I'll play one at NAMM for sure!!!

It's got a cool upper mid punch thing I think you'll like. I slowly coming out of the sludge to dig on some more cutting tones. :D

The OCD V4 does sound great. Try it with 18v power supply for more headroom and tighter overall sound. Kills @ 18v on the Higher gain setting. It cost my AC booster it's spot on my board.
