Hi guys! Thanks to this forum and the wonderful service of both Peters, i finally managed to get a herbert shipped to Singapore. Plugged it in to my lp custom with bkp cold sweats, set everything to 12 oclock (not the volume) and bam! instant smile on my face. I didnt even know where to begin tweaking -- the sound was already killer. More than enough gain on tap and sounds extremely clear even when under heavy distortion.

Its being played through a mesa recto 2x12 with v30s and i didnt expect it to sound too good but im already very happy with the sound. Am now waiting on a matching Mills cab with X pattern of v30s and G12K-100s which should be here in about 3 weeks time.

My other amp i am using was a vht sigx which i thought sounded pretty good too and planned on keeping it for a "different" sound but the moment i plugged the herbie in, i knew the vht will go. The herbert can do what the vht does, plus even more! Superb amp by a top notch company

I really like the white headshell. Happy new amp day and have fun with it ;)

I want your guitar... Played one @ guitar center a couple years ago and I still have dreams about it.. as far as I know its the only LP custom produced recently with a 60's neck.

oh, and I'll take your herbie too.

Enjoy your killer rig! You have no excuses to suck now! hahaha

will be nicer once my white mills to match it arrives! my silverburst actually has the really chunky neck -- not the slim 60's version but it sounds killer esp with the bkp inside. no more excuses to keep looking out for more amps-- time to play it!

enjoy many hours of great tone. Nice LP BTW...i have an original 82 Silverburst.. Killer guitar!!! Best of luck.

Congrats! that looks so great!

I would really love to get a Herbert again or a VH4! I miss the Diezel tone!

I cant wait to see the matching white mills! it's going to be awesome!

Have fun man!

Awesome man! and let me know how the Mills works out, I'm hoping to go for the same configuration once I can save up!

Why didn't you go with a Diezel cab? You'd have a better cab than the Mills.

yup, the cab choice was pretty much a toss up between the diezel or the mills but i wanted the X pattern for speakers and didnt really want to swap speakers on a new cab so went with the mills

I'm sorry, but what is wrong with Diezel distributors? They can't swap speakers for a customer? Have you actually contacted & asked a dealer & they refused? I'd love to know who if so.

hmm that didnt cross my mind actually that diezel would be willing to swap out speakers so i didnt ask them. in any case, im pretty sure both cabs would be great

We sent every amp with stickers, Steve.
Somebody has stolen Your ones :gethim:

Please send me an email, if You need some.

i was even contemplating on doing a tube swap to the SED 6550's even before getting the amp

realised it was a stupid idea once i plugged it in -- very happy with how it sounds and would like to keep it that way

btw does anyone know what the 001 right in front of the serial number means?

 THAT IS JUST ONE HOT LOOKIN' AMP!!!!

I'm SO into white tolex... But I fight with its "Liberace" kinda curb appeal. Black takes more 'buse than white, but man, that is just simply a beautiful looking head. CONGRATS :rawk:

V. :salute:
