Hello RT,
As seen by some of my recent posts here, a friend gifted me a Harley Benton TE-90QM. The guitar is unbelievable for the price - really.
While I was playing the guitar, I noticed there was a certain type of compression to the sound/loss of dynamics. Pretty good sounding pickups overall, but there were certain qualities I would generally associate with Ceramic magnets.
These have Roswell AlNiCo listed in the description.
I popped them out of the guitar but was unable to remove the covers due to the way they are connected at the factory.
I shined a light and saw what I believed to be ceramic magnets, but was not certain.
I looked up the specific model of the pickups and got an answer directly from Roswell.
Roswell states that they are indeed Ceramic, and are not made like the model that matches almost exactly like it that is actually AlNiCo.
I contacted HB about the issue. They originally linked me to the pickup they believed it to be, which is AlNiCo but I showed them the communication direct from Roswell about this specific model.
They contacted Roswell directly, who confirmed the magnets are ceramic.
HB offered me a 10% refund or I could return the guitar free if charge.
I am taking the refund, I love this thing!
They are updating all of their product descriptions as such.
Pretty neat to find an error and have a team act so quickly to resolve it.
