Has anyone here boosted Bogner XTC Blue channel?

If so, what with, and what did you find?

I'm looking into boost pedals, for more flavours of tone, basically. Preferably true bypass, so I'm probably looking at something boo-teek, no?

Yes, and it sounded incredible. I liked the Blue Channel more than the Red Channel. I was using a boost for both channels.

It takes pedals extremely well. TS-9, Fulldrive II, BB, and a couple treble boosters are some of the ones I used, and they all worked great.

I have a Maxon 808 and a HBE Full Metal Jacket, but I havn't tryed them with the XTC yet. I will give you a report.

That's interesting, as I was looking at the Fulldrive 2. I notice the new version is "Mosfet". Is it better than the old FDII, or the same, or worse, or what?

I didn't care for the blue channel boosted with either a Keeley SD1 or an Xotic BB. However, when I ran it in Plexi mode and boosted it...that was a different story!!!!

Better in that it's the same thing, but with an option of one more tone. Mine doesn't have it, but the new ones are the same exact thing, with a second switch for the "Mosfet".

Cool. I may well pick one up. I mean, I really want a new wah pedal, but for the amount I use wah, maybe that cash will be better spent on a real nice boost.

I use a boost only with my strat. It has real vintage pickups. I use a MXR Wylde OD. Level full up, tone 11:30, Gain 8:00. It really fattens up the singles. I see no need to use it with humbuckers. As it is, I only have the Blue gain on 3:30 with the stock boost. If I needed more, I'd just turn up the gain.

+1 The Fulldrive is a great pedal for a variety of uses and the mosfet version is just that much more flexible.

I like hitting the XTC blue channel with my Maxon OD9 Pro Plus. It's very tone transparent and more useable. I'm also experimenting with the Xotic BB preamp...Maxon still sounding better so far.

I can believe that. The Xotic BB is simply the best clean boost (IMHO) that I've used on every amp except the XTC. (Doesn't apply to Plexi mode.)

I've used a few and liked the bad monkey as well as anything.
