How dows it compare to a Diezel (VH4, Herbie, Einstein) ? I've been thinking about changing my F-50 (even tho I LOVE IT) but I don't have the cash to own both amps.

How do they compare to each other? Cleans/gain, etc... :)

I've played Mesa F-Series & though I generally don't like Mesa amps I did like this one, it was a cool amp. That said it shrinks next to Diezels every possible way you can think of. :D

I hate to say it, but I used to be a Mesa fan.....
NOTHING Diezel produces even compares!!!!!!!! It leaves Mesa in the dust!!!!!
Anything that Peter designs/makes pisses on Mesa IMHO'
Once you go Diezel you never come back haha
Try em, you'll see!!!

Before I got my Einstein combo I A/B it with a lot of other combos, also a F30. The Einstein blew them all away. Its a complete other league in terms of clearity and variety. Of course this was a 30W against a 50W but also compared to Engl combos and larger mesas like the lonestar Eini has much more punch and power. It didin'T even think of a Diezel when I went for a new combo, but fortunately one was in the same showroom and I plugged in. From that moment it was absolutly clear that I won't be happy with anything else. And my wife agreed - and she knows my GAS behaviour!!!  So I spend more than I planned but got the best in my opinion.

You f*&ers are NOT helping! :P (again, why did I ask uh?! )

I LOVE my F-50, really, but I'm gasing for a Diezel soooo bad right now.

One simple question then:

In case a exchange my F-50 for a diezel, it'll for an Einstein (even though I'm Gasing for a Herbie!) Will the Eistein have the same amount of gain than the F-50? I Really like the F-50's Ch. 2 specially with contour.

I have a 100 watt Einstein, and I assure you there will be more than enough gain. Also, it's real gain, not that buzzy, overly compressed, can't hear individual notes kind of gain that Mesa has. Buy it....

Not to beat dead horses but when I heard the Herbert and thought the $$ was alot to spend on it, so I went thru 3 or 4 heads trying to emulate it(Framus Cobra, Triaxis rack, Triamp, 3 channel Dual Rec, etc) and I realized that there isn't a dollar figure you can put on great tone! The sounds are great, channels, FX loops are great, bullet proof.....Buy a Diezel, any of them and I am sure you'll love it for years!

it will definetly have the same amount of gain, even much more in my opinion. and surely enough for everything.

Einstein will blow the F-50 out of the water if the F-50 is anything like the F-30 I owned previously. While the F-Series are nice, they have nothing on any Diezel.

Before my first Diezel (Einstein Combo) I had a Mesa Boogie F30. No way to compare these two amps. To be honest the F30 has one advantage: The weight...
No, seriously, the sound of these two amps is (with a good guitar) from two diffrent worlds. That was when the Diezel virus started. Now I have an Einstein Top, a Herbert, (my VH4S I sold last week) and several Cabs. And I know why... ;)

I recorded our first album almost completely with a borrowed F50. It's decent but there's something about the sound that I didn't quite like. (much like with the Road King I got just after we finished) I can't imagine it possibly comparing to an Einstein combo or something like that.
