Have you ever bought a guitar that you know you don't like, for the second time?

Doctor Love
Just to demonstrate the power of the local music store: I never would have ordered a guitar that I know I don't like from an online dealer. Never. But sometimes you put your hands on something magic in a store and you find yourself getting your wallet out!!
That happened to me recently - bought a guitar that I've owned before, didn't love, and still think is ugly. But damned if I didn't buy it! Again!
Have you ever bought something you didn't like, multiple times? How did it turn out?
Celebrate Mediocrity and have a nice weekend!

I have! I have owned three (yeah... I know) EBMM Sabre guitars. I like everything about them except the neck at the first three frets. It's just too damn thin. I kept convincing myself that it would be different every time but every time I ended up selling because of that neck profile. I know Rabea modified the neck profile on his signature model to a thicker shape, so I wonder if I'd like his signature model. I just can't stand satin finishes on guitars.

Fool me once, shame on you

Fool me twice, shame on me 😂

yep have bought a few 24fret Neck Thru soloist style guitars over the years and I just never get on with them so get rid of them, then kinda forget why I don't like them so get another one ... pretty sure I am now done making that mistake in the future ... maybe

Cool man. I always looked at a weathered cherry colored Angus Young signature guitar as a 15 year old. It was so cool to me at the time. I'd still like to own one of them, just for light wankery because I'm definitely ended up being a V/explorer and single cut type of dude.

Nice, that one sounds like a keeper. Congrats.

Oh sure. I tried the Music Man Majesty twice, and I've even considered one a third time. It seems like something I should really like...but it isn't.

And, since there is some talk on SGs, I dig them, except for the fixed bridge. So, I recently had a Kahler stud-mount bridge put on my standard, so now its super ultra-cool - an SG with a trem!

Ibanez. A lot of them look so good, then it's like playing a piece of cardboard. Something about the resonance of their guitars bother me. I know this will sound stupid, but it's like the necks are hollowed out shells.

Granted, I've never had a J Craft or Prestige model, mainly run-of-the-mill RG's. I doubt I ever give one another try, though I've been tempted.

LPs. Any and all. I've bought, tried, and sold all of them. It's just a matter of time before I sell my latest one, a MiJ History with a cool top. I just don't gel with single cuts. They usually sound great, most can be set up to play well etc...
But a super Strat is home. They are all I play.

Exactly what I came here to say. I've tried LP's maybe 4-5 times and just can't bond with them.
