We talked long with Keith about his gear last week doing some stuff for him and he keeps saying that this pre amp just has something special about it! It's the color!

Might be the color, but seriously, my Silver Pre-Rocktron IE-4 has some special mojo that I don't hear in anything else. It's really special. It just sings like it's alive.
Ah yes, I can still remember when Bruce built these in the
basement of his house- I also think he did a couple in gold
and(maybe) blue...Damn Hilly,why did'nt I just buy one then?
I know we talked about it on the way back to Saginaw...
I miss mine sometimes. And then I go crank my Eggie single channel EG3 and I'm OK. But I totally aggree, for a money, size and weight is no object rig.
If you're just going to use two screws, you should at least put the bottom ones in or do a diagonal. I mean seriously, gravity is going to bend that faceplate.

Yeah, the other colors were very cool...that's why it's a drag there
are so few(I think only 2-3 each color) So not only would you have
the bomb sounding preamp but you'd have a really rare one,too....

Is that right?? Only a few made of each color?? Well fuck my ass... now I'm sad... I almost bought a red-face IE4 like a year ago but decided not to. Granted at the time I didn't know how amazing Egnater was and how they sounded, but still...
