Man...if/when released, I intend to purchase a mini Kemper product. Maybe my hopes are too high, however, there is a market for it.

That said and tired of waiting; I picked up a Headrush MX5 via Sweetwater's current deal and am really pleased with it right out of the box. Being a previous Eleven Rack owner, I was a bit concerned; however, a friend asked me to setup his Headrush Gigboard early last year and I recall really liking it, looked at their form options at that time and saw the MX5 was on the horizon: waited.

I'm not one who's pedal on/off all the time, however, do enjoy having a wah/expression in line. The intuitive interface and layout works perfectly for me. Expression pedal and button feel good and the option to add another is there. Seems reasonably well built and is extremely portable. I am aware of the unfortunate hardware shortage they're suffering through (along with many/most); however, fingers crossed this lasts for several years of playing, seems to be an excellent purchase. I've got several other boards in many forms, however, this one seems likely to become my initial 'go-to' once I really work things out.

Highly recommend.

I know this is an old thread. But I absolutely love my MX5, it's a pretty powerful little box for the price. The Marshall and Mesa amps in it are better than good.

There really is a lot of good inside this little thing. Last few times I putzed around with mine I ran a send out to my Tonex pedal to run them simultaneously (a little send signal delay from the MX5 is needed to address phasing) and even more tones are revealed. The Tonex stays dry with all effects within the MX5 - albeit that could be changed, too. Volume knobs on either allow a quasi-A/B functionality. Lots of fun.

With the right PA, I'd have zero issues and/or concerns taking the MX5 straight to the stage. It's super-simple and powerful at home into the DAW environment, as well.

A dude on my forum just sold his Fractal FM3 because he digs his MX5 more.
I truly think the MX5 is the most underrated modeler out there.
The amount of DSP horsepower it has is pretty amazing for a $400 box. I've never hit a ceiling on mine even with complex dual amp rigs and dual IR's.
The Drop pedal effect in it is pretty much as good as my Digitech Drop.
The tuner is as accurate as my Peterson.
What a hell of a machine in my book.

Hard to argue against it!

I definitely like my HR Pedalboard more than my HX Stomp. It is very amp like... But nothing comes close to me FM3.

I thought the mx5 was killer. It was my first multi fx unit since the Digitech RP7 and I had so much fun with it.
I ended up selling it because I got a sweet deal on a Kemper, but it’s a great unit

Well getting a good deal on a Kemper is a valid reason to get rid of an MX5.
:p
Until I can afford an AXE 3 I'll keep using my little MX5.
I wouldn't complain if a Kemper found me for a killer price. But I highly doubt that's gonna happen.

You might get lucky. Between Kemper lowering their New prices and more competition in the modeling game, I can see some deals popping up. Add to that many people buying a kemper for a second time because they are intrigued by the new updates, but then selling again when they realize it still isn’t for them.

Hopefully I do get lucky down the road and get my hands on a Kemper. I have only played one once at GC when they had a used one in the store. It was pretty amazing for the little bit that I played it.
