Ok guys, ifinally got the Einy screaming.I own acid pro but heck if I can figure it out.Should I dump $ into a mac and go garage band or do you guys know of a easy program for an old fart.I'm so dumb I dumped numerous rack effects because of the hassel to program.L.oL. glad playin the guit is easier.Oh yeah was aud for kiss back in the dark ages,so I am reasonably prof at my love.Thankx guys for any pointers .

if you have a pc you can start with cubase LE-version (cheap). it's good to start with. but mac and garageband never is a bad option to start with either. you still need a good microphone and a usb2 (or firewire if mac)-interface to record though.

Reaper is always an option, a full fleged DAW at a very friendly price.
But, if you want the easiest and friendliest option, and if money isn't an issue, a Macbook with Garage band is very nice. You will love the Macbook anyway ;) Then get a decent firewire or USB interface - M-Audio, Presonus, even Apogee Duet if you want the best.

REAPER $40 ftw: http://www.cockos.com/reaper/download.php

It's an uncrippled demo on the honour system, so it'll cost you nothing to try the full version. You don't sound like you need included loops or midi, Reaper is awesome for just straight up recording, it can be as simple or as deep as you want, it's all customizable to fit you...can be a learning curve if you want to get tricky, but for simple stuff it's very intuitive. Runs on pc or mac, personally macs are way overrated and overpriced for audio now imo, and garageband is a joke to use, very limited editing features and plugs. My mac just died recently so I can't even say they are amazingly reliable., I mainly used it bootcamped on windows anyhoot...made a nice pc!

Best thing really is the REAPER forum, the users are so helpful there, it's a real good learning environment for daw noobs. :)

for PC i used to use Adobe Audition...pretty straight forward.

But if you go Mac.. Garageband is cool... but Logic is wayyyyy cooolllerr

Minimum....Mac
Awesome....Mac + Logic
Super Easy and Awesome....Mac + Garageband

Mo
