Waiting for the M50 to arrive. Great setup on the power tubes and flexibility to change and rebias. I saw a schematic where there are three preamp tubes in the head, then each mod has two tubes. Questions:
What is the purpose by location for each of the three tubes in the head (V1, etc..) and
What are the tubes on each mod? Looks like more preamps, can these (and I guess the ones inside the head) be switched for tone flavor?

Thanks in advance........

I'll let Jeff answer the tubes in the chassis.

Each module has two pre amp tubes. The one on the left as you face the module is V1. And yes, you can swap them around for tone/gain changes. Search around, there are some nice long threads about pre and power amp tubes and what guys are using and such.

Great, thanks for the info, I fortunately have a lot of power and pre tubes hanging around, interesting that the V1 is in the module, I guess that makes sense. I've always been amazed at the change in tone that tube changing can make, and what an awesome situation to have the external bias pots for the powers, no more ripping the damn thing apart looking for the internal pot....

Thanks and hoping someone can chime in as to what the internal pre-amp tubes are. I assume the other tube on a module is effectively the V2 tube.

Just a guess but I'll say input, loop driver, and phase inverter.
