hey there guys, one more time a tube blew up. its the 4. freaking time.
the first 3 were preamp tubes, but know its a big one.

it s been a week since i played the einstein, so i checked the cables and wiring ,turned on, waited 3 minutes, put the standby off and after 1 minute of very silent playing i heard a loud plop out the cab . since then the security light at the back shines. it s the one for "outter". the amp sounds normal and the loudness hasnt changed.

what now ? really dont have the money for a new pair of el 34 s.
can i play on with the defect tube or do i have to wait for a new pair?

and why the fuck is it the 4. tube in 8 months of having the diezel thats crashing??????
í m really shure that the amp is always rightly connected and i always wait about 4 minutes to turn standby off.im starting to become very desperate.

I can assure you that there is nothing wrong with the amp. I can also assure you that tubes have no set lifetime. You can buy a brand new tube and have it go bad right away. Tubes are not perfect nor are any two tubes exactly alike. Some last longer then others. I wish this were not the case but that is the truth. Tubes are like light bulbs, they burn out and go bad and you never know when it could happen. From what you wrote it sounds like you did everything ok, the amp is ok, the tube is the problem.

thx. yeah i just thought or hoped that the power tubes would last longer.

but can i play on with 3 working tubes? or do i have to put the 2 outer out and play with 2? or do i have to replace them ???

You can always pull 2 tubes but I would suggest you always run 4 good tubes in all spots.

1. change the fuse (get several from an OBI or so)
2. check bias
3. see if it happens again, if yes: contact me, I will organize a pair for you.

Sometimes the fuse blows when the tube is not perfectly sitting in the socket, so push them back into the socket. And the fuses are there to protect your amp, you know. ;)

hey doc.
