So I bought a used renegade off ebay that works great. The original floor switching pedal that came with it works except the effects loop button. Do I need that to use my effects loop?
I've tested the effects loop by using a Tc electronic ditto and a delay but both produce no sounds when I try it. I get sounds out of my amp/guitar but no sounds from any of the effects connected to the effects loop.
To clarify I know how to use an effects loop and I put the cables in the order. I'm starting to think my renegade is defective. Any help/suggestion to get my effects loop working? I want to use my ditto looper on it for dirty tones as it sounds very muddy when I put it in front of my amp. Any help is very welcome.

I would start by simplifying things unplug the footswitch from the amp, the effects loop works without it....that will eliminate the footswitch from the equation...now try it..

If that dosnt work the next thing I would do is reverse the send and return cables you have hooked up on the back of the amp...possible you have them reversed....also check your effect volume levels...sounds stupid I know but I dont what you have tried or not tried, and often times the answer is right in front of our face...

use only one pedal that you know works first.......that will eliminate the possibility of a bad pedal cable then .....plug a cable that you know works into your amps effects loop send....then plug the other end of that cable into the input of your effect pedal.......now plug another cable into the output of that effect pedal ........and plug that cable into the return of your amps effect loop...now try it...

as long as the volume of the pedal is turned up it should work, if not.....theres a problem

Keep in mind you bought it off .....E-BAY.....hmmmm....hopefully you bought it from a dealer and can return it....

Take a look at the footswitch. Make sure that it is set to engage on the channel you are using. If that doesn't do it, it is more likely to be the cable or the footswitch than the amp itself.

Connect a single cable (no effects) from the send to the return and switch the loop in and out with the pedal. Also, unplug the pedal and verify the amp works if you plug the cable into the loop. Report back.

Hello Mr Egnator, I did the above and it worked. The only problem is that I cant plug in the foot pedal that came with the amp or the effects loop turns off. Also I noticed that there is slight tone loss with the effects loop engaged. Thanks so much for replying quickly.
