HELP FOR MY VH4 + COLUMBUS

Hi,

Please I need your help….

About two mounth ago, with the service of the German european distributor “ MUSIK-PRODUKTIV “ ( Ibbenburen – Germany), after two years of parsimony, I’ve bought a Diezel VH4 head ( serial # 070936 ) that I have been able to use very little until the arrive of
the midi pedal that I have ordered, even with Musik-produktiv’s service, and that I have receveid 3 weeks later ( Diezel Columbus serial # 800/182 ).

From this moment are started my problems….

Just received the midi pedal, I’ve immediately tryed my new amp and for about 30 minutes all seemed o.k… but , unexpected, first it started to hear a strange whistle… and then the VH4 has not worked anymore …. With or without the midi pedal…. The sound didn’t go out anymore….

Just informed the dealer, I’ve re-send the head + the midi pedal to let them check at their office support….After about 10 days they have re-send me everything specifying me that the problem was a defect in the midi cable…( very strange at my opinion….)

Looking inside the head, in fact, I’ve noted that a part was been changed… there was infat a part of color blu behind the pre-valves that before there wasn’t..

( not a valve or a fuse… i don’t know if could be a potentiometer or condenser or other…) . But it was not a problem for me…... if the problem had been resolved….

Infact, last Friday, I’ve tried everything and all seemed to work very well…..( even if sometimes there was always a strange whistle in backgroupd ). I was too happy and sure that the problem was been resolved…And I went to bed happy.

Unfortunately, last sunday, again the problem…. Just arrived in the place where I play with my band, I’ve turned on the amp with the midi pedal, but it didn’t work….Again with or without the pedal ( even going in the head directly with my guitar without any pedal / loop…)..the sound doesnt go out from the cabinet…. ( that it has not problem because it works with the amp of my friend and with the same ccable)..

Now, I’m again in contact with musik-produktiv…. I’m very afraid…. I’ve asked them if is possible to have a new head in substitution because, sincerly, i don’t like the idea that they open again my VH4… I dont’ know what they do with this jewel… I don’t trust them too much at this point….

Is not only a problem of money… I want this amp because I know what is its sound…. But I’d like that it was ok and it doesn’t give me problem….

I’m sure that there is something wrong… event because I’m not a beginner … and I think that is not necessary to be an engineer to switch on an amp and a midi pedal….

What can be happened ??? Can my VH4 head be defective ?? Or other... can be defected the midi pedal Columbus and it causes damages at VH4 ??? I woudn't like that now, if i'll receive a new VH4 in substitution I could have the same problem because the defect is in the Diezel Columbus...

Can you give me a good advice??

Now I’m waiting again for an answer from Musik-produktive’ s assistence, but I’d like to have an opinion from you…..

I don’t know if I can trust of them at this point… Even because I am at more than 1000 km of distance...

Please help me… I’m dispair…

@ Riccardo,

both units are still under warranty. You have to solve that with Musik Produktiv first. I guess that you need to give them some kind of prove that something is wrong - so something like a mp3-file or a video.

Is the amp working properly without Columbus?
Is Columbus working properly with an external power supply and say a midi fx unit?

please don't get angry... i can use this forum in my post work-office... I'm not in my home... ....and you can understand that I can't use it too much during the day.... and the first idea is been to write to somebody that speak my language... I've sent an e.mail to support@diezelamplification.com but i hadn't received answer... anyway is not a problem....

anyway.... sincerly I' ve not thought to make a video to show the problem... even because for musik produktiv's assistance there is a person that can speak in my italian language and i can explain the problem... however, I admit that it could be a good idea...

I know that fortunately there is a warranty.... and fortunately musik-produktiv doesn't give me problem for this... they are free to help me in order to resolve the problem...

Diezel Columbus works with or without the external power supply... ( i've tried ), and connecting it to wh4 with the midi cable i can change normally the channel of the head, switching channel on the front panel...i can change chanel normally with the pedal on the head... the problem is that the sound doesn't go out form the cabinet....
only in the third and fouth channel, with the volume level very high ( at a level that should crash the wall...) i can heard a little sound....
I've tried to use that the VH4 without the Columbus, but it didn't work however...
last friday all seemed work ok.... i thought the problem was been resolved..
sunday, just switched on the WH4 with Columbus connected, it didn't work...

BUT TODAY I HAVE TAKEN AGREEMENT WITH MUSIK PRODUKTIV TO SEND AGAIN VH4+COLUMBUS TO THEIR WAREHOUSE.. AND I'VE ALREADY PACKAGED EVERYTHING WAITING THE COURIER THAT WILL PICK UP IT.
THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT, WITH THE WARRANTY, THEY SHOLD SEND ME A VH4 IN SUBSTITUTION...
I'D LIKE ONLY TO KNOW IF,AT YOUR ADVICE, IS EVER HAPPENED SOMETHING OF SIMILAR...... ( I KNOW THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE UNDERSTAND WHICH IS THE PROBLEM WITH THIS MESSAGES...).
AND, ABOVE ALL, IF AT YOUR OPINION, IS POSSIBLE THAT A DIFECT IN THE COLUMBUS MIDI PEDAL COULD DEMAGE ANOTHER VH4 HEAD... I SHOULD BE VERY UNLUCKY....
