I read here a while ago about someone with the same problems - when switching channels in the Herbert there's a muted gap (likely to avoid popping) but I'd rather deal with the popping than the gap.

Any way to mod for this?

I assume you haven't got an effects processor in the serial loop that is causing the gap? i've never particularly noticed a bad gap myself.

No. I actually got a G-Major to try and see if a delay would smooth it out, but that lead to other complications.

I'm sure there's a few miliseconds in the software to avoid popping but this is a larger gap than I care to have.

I use a Randall RF-4 for channel switching, and don't use the effects loops. I have no popping, and instantaneous switching.

Try using your midi footcontroller to change between 2 patches on the herbert, both set with the switchable FX loop off, and with nothing else connected except guitar and cab. Do you still get the problem? If it's less than you're normally getting then try going from a herbie patch to a herbie patch with the loop on in case the FX loop switching in and out is adding a delay.
