I believe that is the Japanese Charvel model 3 or classic series that came out in 87 or 88.
I think there is a website where you can check the serial number and it will give you the exact info!

I'll see if i can find it.

Hope that helps!

It's a later import...they didn't go to that toothpaste logo until the early 90's IIRC. The original Model series copped the original logo but gave it a pointy headstock. If I had to guess, I would say 375 Deluxe

cool. are these made out of basswood?

maybe my eyes or the picture but my guitar body doesn't look as pointy as the 375 deluxe?

Body looks right...typical Dinky shape. What's the scale length? If its short (ala Gibson) then it would be a Fusion.

My first thought was 375 when looking at the picture. Could be a decent sort of beater guitar for you. It's not really worth doing much to hop it up though IMO.

my thoughts exactly. maybe swap pickups but its fine for what it is.

I had a bunch of those 89-early 90's import charvels. I always hated the logo but they played good.

Hey Scott,

my feeling as well about the logo. never even cared for the actual head stock as well. Been a while since i played it! :)

Let me know if you decide you can no longer bare that horrible head stock :)

Slightly off topic: I used to have a 1987 Model 6, I bought it new in 1988 and absolutely loved it (well, I got to admit the Kahler was hideous but hey what did I know I was only 15 at the time haha!).

I remember a few years later when the newer models, like this 375, with the new toothpaste logo came out. A mate of mine got him what I think was an electric blue 375 deluxe and I tried a bunch of times to compare with my Model 6 and just couldn't get over the different feel of the newer ones. At least that guitar felt inferior in every way imaginable, didn't play as good, the finish wasn't that good, the neck didn't feel right... that guitar basically put me off the "new" Charvels for years.

I did get a beater 1987/1988 (can't remember which haha) Charvel 3dr for $150 a couple of years ago and had it refinished.

It's now one of my two main gigging guitars ;) .
