Help: I'm tone deaf

I'm worried that I might be tone deaf because I put my Sovtek 5881's back in my Mod 50 and like them better than the TS5881's. My T/T cleans sound more Fendery than with the TS5881's. Should I see an Audiologist? :scared:

That's interesting... I just took out my TSEL34 and put in some TS5881 and I think it's better now --more clarity all around.
Also took out the JP 5751 from my Bman (V1) and put in a Soktek 12AX7lps and now that sounds/feels better!
 
put some TS 6550s in there...and then you'll be in tonal bliss! :)
 
You must have read my mind because I'm picking up a set of TS6550's on the way to my gig tonight :rock:

BTW: How high do you bias them?
 
The MOD 50 just doesnt sound good with EL34s. I dont know why but it has much more clarity with 5881s or 6550s. RockStarNick is the biggest EL34 fan in the world, tried all kinds of good 34s, and even he made the switch when he had his MOD 50.
