So I just finished doing a full tube change on my VH4. I went with Ruby EL34's.
The Herbert has EL34's but when playing it with the VH4 its MUCH MUCH brighter and doesn't have as much punch as the VH4.
I would like to get some more punch/kick out of the Herbert and tame down the high end but still maintain a tight bottom end.
Even with presence and treble at 2:00 and deep and bass at 3:30 its still brighter than the vh4 with presence and treble at 3:25.
I was thinking of swapping out 2 EL34's for ether 2 6550's or 2 6L6...maybe even 2 KT77's?
