Okay, I have: VX, SL2, EG5, and Erect

I also have an Egnater-built IE-4.

I need to buy some stuff right now. I have been lusting after a B-man since I played one on Sat of the last seminar.
So, that one is a given.

I was starting to like the COD, but maybe I should wait for the higher gain version?

What else do you guys recommend? MHG? TD?

If you already have EG5, you have the better version of the MHG.

TD is really nice. Definitely get the BMan first though.

COD is cool, but if you like lots of gain wait for the Turbo verison.

Bassman, then T/D. The COD was actually pretty cool when I heard it up in Mich last week.

You may also want to look into an SL. Plexi/800 type module.

What is the COD...like a Dumble?

From the clips, I would say the EG3/4 is a must have. :)

I'd say get a COD man. I have currently put the e-rect, cod, eg3/4, and SL2 all side by side. To my ears running it in my Mod50, I could get the tones of the EG3/4 w/ my SL2 pretty close. Just darken the SL2 up a bit in the highs. The EG3/4 is just a bit tighter in the mids than the SL2, but after doing some tube swapping, I got the modules to sound pretty damn close. Close enough not to keep both modules IMHO. The COD is quite nice. Its a blues player's dream. I can get that dirty SRV tone to a T on channel A, and channel B has even more gain. I'd say Channel A reminds of of a "Dumble"esque sound, and Channel B has an early boogie type vibe. For me, I've gotten it to sound semi-close to Dream Theater's early tone (Images and Words), but nothing close to what he uses now.

I find the COD sounds awesome in both the mod50 and the m4. Using it with my gretsch sounds amazing man!

Definitely the T/D. Its by far my favorite clean module. The T side is just sooo shimmering and beautiful.

My votes are definitely not the MHG (since you have an EG5), and get the COD and T/D.

So you mean you've been able to cop his tone back when it was actually worth copping? Sounds good to me! :D

I didnt really hear any dream theater tones in the COD to be honest. Not even Images and Words. Maybe you can get somewhat close to the I&W lead tone, but definitely not in the ballpark for any DT rhythms. Still a cool module, but thats not what it does.

Yeah...i didn't say i got it nailed exactly, but I got it close with my guitar. Maybe its also because I use EMG's which gives off a different vibe than most passive pickups.
