Help Me Narrow Down My Next Amp

Looking to add a new amp to the collection. Currently have:
  • Mesa Mark V:25
  • Mesa Dual Rectifier (Multi-watt)
  • Fender '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb
  • Victory Kraken MkII
  • Marshall DSL40C (first run, not the newer CR)
  • Friedman IR-J
  • Synergy modules
    • Soldano SLO II
    • Uberschall
    • Friedman BE-DLX
  • Fryette Power Station PS-100 to run it all through
Have really been looking at the Soldano SLO-30, Marshall JCM800 2203X (would consider the Synergy module if it is worth it, but feel like I'd want the real deal), or some sort of modded plexi type (Suhr SL67/68, Friedman Plex, etc...), but I feel as if my collection already covers most of this ground in some form or another.

Unfortunately I don't really know exactly what I want, but hoping to get some help here.
Would also like it to be something I can grab from Sweetwater because of gift cards and their awesome card offers.

Posted this elsewhere and got a lot of recommendations for tweed / Dumble / Vox / etc... style amps, but I'm just not interested.

Appreciate any recommendations or suggestions.

Thank you!

Edited because I misunderstood. I agree with RaceU4her. Can't go wrong with a 5153 variant.

Are looking for something in the same vein of what you have or something different? Also, budget or range you're looking to spend?

Seems you leaning towards some heavier tones yourself.

Marshall is always a win I think. SLO I won’t comment as I have one and so I am biased.

Out of new stuff our people here are liking the new 2C+ Reissue it seems.

What you play, what you listen to?

Not sure on budget but have a look at something like a Bogner Ecstacy or Goldfinger SL45

i think one of the 5153's would fit nicely in that bunch

Solid recommendation. I was under the impression that the Kraken MkII 2nd channel is "based on" a 5150 (and the 1st channel on the JCM 800/900) so I didn't know if that would be too much of an overlap. I've always been torn on which 5153 I like best. 6L6 seems versatile, EL34 sounds great but the 50W has that blue channel people seem to be torn over, and I'm not sure if the stealth has more gain than I'd ever need.

What are your thoughts on the Marshall (JCM800?) vs SLO? I'm open to hearing what you have to say. The Mesa Mark 2C+ just seems like it's not worth the price since I have a Mark V. Also have the Mark 2C+ plugin from Neural DSP.

Music interests: The broad range of Metallica, Pantera, Van Halen, and Motley Crue through the 90s/00s metal / hard rock and nu-metal stuff. Recently getting into playing the modern metal stuff as well.

might want to consider a Jubilee in there as well.

edit: just realized you wrote Pantera. That might be a stretch for the Jub.

My experience is very limited, I never heard a JCM live. No amps where I am at, I just bougt an SLO blindly back then. People that tried both Synergy and amp itself, say Synergy module gives a good impression of what it is.

Van Halen and Motley Crue are kinda built in in an SLO. To get it to tighter stuff you’ll need a boost.

I mean if there is a clean JCM for a good price, might just grab that. But you in US have luxury to try stuff before buying. You sould really go to a shop and try them SLO and new Mesa.

5150III is a solid advice. Not expensive, metal as hell, lotss second hand and not difficult to move.

You also can try and go for a cool modded stuff too. Some of our own do mod, so if there are money to burn, I’d consider that too.

Also older Mark route also tempts me. Maybe even a nice Mark IV rev A.

Options are limitless if there is a will 🤘🏻

That's what I'm talking about! :rawk:

Actually just got the Friedman IR-J to see if I like it enough to eventually get the JEL-20 or 50.
I'm a huge Jake fan. I wanted the JEL100, but it came and went before I could even sniff one. The 50 sounds pretty smokin. I still jonz for the 100 though. :p

What is your intended use ? What style of music ?

I have the 100 and it's great. I imagine the 50 is only slightly different.
