I was noodling on my Strat going through my renegade head and TM 212 at very low volume and it just shut down. At first I thought a fuse went in the house but everything else in the room worked fine. I then checked the two tube fuses and the power fuse and all are fine. Thought it might be the cord but my 2204 powered up fine when I used it on that amp.

Any ideas? It gets light use and hasn't been abused in any way. Neither the power light either channel light, or the fan comes on. It's completely dead.

Try working your power switch on and off several times. Possibly a dirty switch.

Big problem like this is usually something fairly straight ahead. Make sure your power cord is firmly seated; try another power cord.

Unplug it from the wall, wait about 15 minutes, and open it up. Make sure all your connections are firmly seated.

Let us know.

:scared:

Tube? Fuse? I would check the fuse for the power tubes first. Hopefully, if it was a tube failure, the fuse went before the tube could do any real damage.

I checked the fuses, they are all good. Even if it was a tube, it should still power on. Not even the fan comes on. Very disappointing.

Have you tried plugging it in to another outlet? Maybe it isn't the amp.

  :scared:  :aww:

The same cord and outlet are working fine on my Marshall. It's got to be the amp. Talked to Nate this morning. I'm about 50 miles from Egnater here in So Cal. I'm going to take it to them when I get a chance.

You might want to still try opening it up and taking a look. Big "nothing works" kinds of problems like this are often fairly easy to diagnose and solve. It's the "it sounds weird sometimes when I do this ocassionally" kinds of problems that can get tough. You never know- you might be up and running in five minutes.

I had the same thing happen to my Tourmaster 4212. I went to turn it on one morning and nothing happened. I pulled out the fuse and it was blown. Put in another fuse and it blew right away. Turned out to be a bad transformer and it was replaced under the factory warranty as I had only had the amp for 4 months.

I took it to Egnater on Friday. The guy I talked to said he was pretty sure he knew what it might be and they would turn it around ASAP for me. So we'll see.

Wow!That's really convenient to live nearby (btw, where is it?)...I hope nothing happend to mine!I don't know what i would do,here in Belgium  !Let us know what it was!Good luck!

Got the amp back from Egnater. They turned it around in just over a week. Thanks to Nate and everyone at Huntington Park. Turns out, it was just an internal fuse to the PT. There are 6 internal fuses. I did open the amp up prior to taking it to Egnater but I was looking for fuses sitting on the pcb. The Renegade has all the fuses in holders that look like little black boxes soldered to the pcb. I had no idea those little boxes were actually fuse holders. They showed me where each fuse is located so I'll know where to look in case it happens again.

I've used the amp on 4 different occasions since getting it back and all is well! Thanks again to everyone at Egnater!
