HELP!No Sound From Tourmaster Head Clean Channels, OD's fine

Hi there,

Hopefully someone can help, all of the sudden I've lost sound in both of my Tourmaster head clean channels, but the OD's are fine.
I've checked the footswitch, removed it to switch manually on the head itself, changed the power settings,
not using the effects loop etc, and still nothing. The tubes are all stock, my thought is the V1 or v2 tubes?

I've got some known good 12ax7's hanging around and could swap, BUT, would that void the warranty? Its only 2 weeks old!

Any insight would be great!
 
Swapping tubes will not void your warranty, I assure you.

Look in the manual. I know V1 handles channel 1. It may handle channel 2 as well.

Check the obvious, your volumes are up for example?

Also, unplug everything but the guitar and amp. Get any footpedals out.

Check this: Look on the back. Make sure the effects loop switch is set to pedal, not 1 and 2 only. If it is set to one and two only and the send and return volumes are down that could do it. After you have done that reconnect the footswitch and make sure the effects loop is off.

Thanks Len, I think I did all that and the obvious, but will check again, it was early, I had no coffee either ;)

Nate@egnater suggested V3 could be suspect.

Once this issue is out of the way, I move on to decide if I want to swap 2 of these GT12's outta my cabinet for some Hellatone 60's, or craiglisting it and getting the 2x12 Egnater Cab. Then I'll be set....well for this week anyway.

Its always something in guitarland :)

Len, speaking of tubes, I noticed on one of your threads you had a very defined list of tubes for each position.
How did you come up with those choices and if you don't mind elaborating.
 
Issue was V3, actually top blew off it, interesting. Threw a EH 12AX7 in there and jammed for an hour, all seems fine.

Is it true that real men blow preamp tubes? :rock:
