Yes, I admit it right away... I've been an idiot :aww:! I replaced the tubes in my Herbert with new preamptubes and KT88 power tubes. Before putting in the new tubes I sprayed some rinse spray in the tube sockets (as recommended from the tube supplier). I guess I didn't wait long enough for the spray to vanish completely before I turned the amp on for biasing. I heard a sizzling sound from the speakers, but stupidly enough I thought it had something to do with the biasing (it's my first biasing), so I just carried on

To make a long story short... Suddenly I saw smoke coming from my Herbert. I imidiately switched it off and unplugged it, but the damage was already a fact. I tried to send an e-mail to support @ diezelamplification.com, but I just got a reply stating "MRS failure", so I thought I'd try here instead.

I've alredy taken the amp to a highly qualified tech who's found some meltet components. He says he can fix it, but he needs the service manual to do the job. Can you help me with this Peter, please? Perhaps you can send me a pm and give me the correct e-mail address to use for support? I've sold all my other amps because my Herbert was all I needed. Needless to say I'm now in trouble

what melted components?

it sounds to me like you had the bias too high & it fried your power tubes.

Make sure this "qualified tech" isn't shittin' ya into thinking it's worse than some blown tubes... If there was a conductor on or in the sockets when you fired it up, that's not good... Hopefully just tubes - did your tube fault LED's kick in? Try replacing ALL the new tubes with the old ones and turn it on if even for a brief moment - listen for snap, crackle, pop - check the LED's and the like - and try it if the 1st two criteria pass. If it works, and there's not noise, it's tube related. If it's hooped with the old tubes, it's pooched for sure.

Sorry man, gotta suck....

we do it with the love in the world Papa! :)

Peter is just 'dry' now.... :D

Well... Guitar amps are not chosen for their level of tech support, but for their sound. But when the best sounding amp in the world also comes with the best tech support in the world, like the case is with Diezel Amplification, then you just have to say thank you and be glad you made the right choice :D :D :D
Thanks Peter :)
