Help with 12ax7 identification

I've been swapping tubes in my JVM for the last 3-4 hours. I'm not going to go through the pros/cons of each. But here is what I had to try out:

NOS RFT
Tung Sol RI
JJ ECC83s
Sovtek 12ax7WB
Winged C 12ax7
JAN GE 5751
Stock Marshalls
And 2 different types of "Engl" labeled tubes

I went through each tube first in V1 and once I settled in on there, I went on to the V2 position. I left the rest as the stock tubes.

I will just tell you what sounded best (by far

V1: "Engl" labeled 12ax7
V2: "Engl" labeled 12ax7 or the Winged C 12ax7 (both good)

Here is my problem, I don't know what brand tube it actually is. I attached a pic of the 2 Engl tubes hoping someone can help me out. This is the best pic I could get. The tube on the right is the good one and the tube on the left was the worst of all the tubes I tried. I even thought the tube might be bad so I tried another one just like it and it sounded the same. Bottom line is that there is a HUGE difference in these 2 tubes. The good one is thick, chunky, and smooth in the mids. The bad one is thin and "quacky" in the mids with almost no low end.

Somebody please tell me what tube this is so I can buy some. As you can see it is noticeably shorter than the other one.

The tube on the left looks like a JJ to me, and the one on the right, looks like a Sovtek or Chinese tube to me.

Marshallfreak I agree, one on the left looks like a jj ecc83, and the one on the right is a chinese 12ax7.

The one on right is Chinese for sure.
Find some older later eighties/early 90's ones and they'll blow your mind!!

Agreed...and attached is the 'proof' or at least a good comparison..left is a GT labelled ECC83 and right is a Chinese 12ax7B
