So got my Herbert after a trade n trying new things with it. Had my other herb 7 yrs but never was able to sit back n tweak while guitarist was jamming on it. Now I had the chance full blown band n got to tweak. After dickin around with it. I was blown away on channel 2 with + side engaged with no mid cut used. Dam herb cuts like a fkn chainsaw.

I see if you use a lil mid cut but I can see where you could get lost with too much mid cut.

So how many of you run herb with no mid cut ?

I did for a while with my last band.
Here's a clip with it disengaged.

I am running Herbert with no mid-cut MOST of the time. I also agree that channel 2+ is a monster tone. It is my go to rhythm sound with a bit of channel 3 thrown in for heavier stuff. Throw a boost onto 2+ and it's an excellent lead tone as well.

What is also cool is I have Wilder Amplifications Evolution chip in mine, so I can switch my mid-cut on and off with my foot controller. Adds a HUGE option that makes things even better.

Keep experimenting and keep us posted. BTW, what settings are you using?

Ch. 2+ is IMO the greatest metal channel ever. I run a little bit of mid cut for maximum crunch/grind. Haven't used it in my band yet (use the Ultra Lead, which cuts like a knife).

I use it with midcut engaged but around 8.30-9 and level at 12. I 95 percent of the time use ch.2+ for rhythms and even for leads from time to time.

I pretty much never use the mid cut. I would be perfectly content with a two channel amp if it had Herbert's channel 2+ and 2-. So many awesome tones in that channel.

It does help when you can twist knobs while someone else man's the six strings.
I believe the mid cut/boost is another EQ tool making the amp more versatile.

Good to have it there when needed.

I never used the Mid Cut on my Herbie. Channel 2+ was LETHAL without it...you heard my rig Cujo...u know what i mean!!
