Do you even use your Deep knob ? I find at as low as 7:00 the speakers are crying !!!

Always at noon on the Herbert & the Einstein, never even thought of moving it anywhere.

Are you sure you haven't fried your speakers?

I Keep It @ 3:00 :D

Any more and it gets a little Muddy... This with a Mills Oversize Afterburner... But man... w/6550's WHAT A THUMP!

Roid RAGE

I'm not running all 6550s, I have mine mixed with EL34s, but I don't turn the deep past noon most days. At noon it has a ton of low end through my Mills cab, there really is no need for me to go higher.

I use mine at zero on my Einstein for live use. the deep knob on the einy influences frequencies at around 120hz, far lower than a guitarist need in a mix, I try not to step all over the bassist.

at home when im practicing alone though ill use it between 10 and 12 o'clock for thump.

When I had my 4x12 oversized Mesa Recto cab I had it around 10 o clock.
Now, with the diezel 12.00 O clock is earth-shaking without getting muddy

No speakers on the Menu today. The air push is just unbelievable with the 6550's.
I did take your advice and try Herbert with EV's. The difference is remarkable in the
clarity, bottom end tightness and the top end is very clear.

This amp just hates Mesa Rear Loaded V-30's. It turns them into fizzy mush....
The VH4, loves them.

Sorry, I haven't played with v30s for so long, I don't even remember how they act. I'm glad you like the EVMs, I don't see going back to v30, especially once you get that master up.

I have 4 12L's and 1 12L Black Label laying around. I may stuff them into a G-Flex cabinet I hate. :D
Thanks again for the clips. They make me tend to try things I generally don't think about. I find
that the Herbert LOVES ceramic pickups.

i'm running full 6550 =C=, and have the Deep Knob around 2:00 o clock. these Eminence Legends V12 love to be pushed. :D

when playing live, i mostly turn it back to ~noon.

I'm at about 1:00 right now. I tend to to move it around base on what I'm feeling at the moment. I have a FL Diezel cab with v30s/gk100s and a Mills Afterburner with all v30s. Both can handle the higher depth settings quite well.
